During CRT, we worked with Elizabeth and used LEGO Spike.  We built a Hopper and had to prototype different legs. We built and tested three prototypes.

We used three different types of legs. We decided to change the legs so we could make it go faster and further. Then we tested the Hopper again and it failed to go straight, but instead it went to the right.

For the second prototype, we made the legs longer. When we tested the Hopper, it turned itself upside down, instead of going ford. For our third prototype we made the legs X’s, that made it go in circles.

The best thing about this challenge was building with my friend and trying new designs.

Today for winter sports me and my partner for table tennis lost to another Rawhiti team that was our friends. First we had to walk from school to Rawhiti Domain so we could catch a bus for a short ride to a church. Then we put our bags in the same spot Rawhiti always put there bags in. After we got stuck into the games, then my game was over me and my partner played game and our friends came and played with us. After about 3 hours when we where about leave it started to rain, so when we got off the bus we ran back to school. When we got to school the rain had stopped and in the end we never did price giving, but in stead we went back to our class and did blogs (boring).

I think that living in a submarine is better than living in a spaceship because in zero gravity life would be hard, but in a submarine your feet can be solid on the ground.

For example it would be boring just look up at stars all the time, but living in a submarine you could look up to glowing bioluminescence or colourful fish. Also if you had a pet in a spaceship and it went for a dump it would float about in stead of it being in a submarine.

But to be honest sleeping in zero gravity is not what I would call fun because you could slip out of your bed in your sleep and hit your head in the metal ship and sleeping in a submarine you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves and the beautiful glowing fish or creatures. In space all you see is stars and more stars and if you ran out of food on a spaceship you would die of hunger, but on a submarine you can eat fish and live on a healthy diet. In space in the ship broke down it would be intent death and in a submarine you can swim to the surface.

So, that’s why I would live in a submarine instead of a spaceship.

Monday the 6th of May, for three days the 6’s went to Living Springs camp. When I got to school, I had to put my bags in the hall and wait. Then what seemed like a lifetime we hopped on the bus and drove for about 30 minutes. After that we stopped for morning tea and the Living Springs guides took us on the longest walk in the history of walking! We had lunch at the half way point and started off again. Then after the painful walk we arrived at the camp and it was not what I expected. We then took your stuff to your cabins, which we had to wait because the cabins were locked. And after that tragic scene we unpacked and did your first activity, “oringtering”. After we had dinner, dessert (that was the best) and went to bed. In the morning we had breakfast, and got ready for a fun, but tiring day. The activities we did where, break out box (we had to complete puzzles), bouldering (where we climb fun rock walls and play games on then), then we had lunch and morning tea and got back into it, mountain boarding (it’s like a skate boarding, but on a bigger board and I did not do it) and lucky last archery tag (like tag, but with bows and arrows with foam on the end). Then we had afternoon tea, dinner and dessert (that was also the best), then we went to bed. In the morning we had breakfast, tidied up our cabins and did our last activity (initiative, where we do all sorts of activities). After that we had lunch and morning tea tidied the eating hall for the year 5’s and what seemed like a lifetime again we got on the bus and went back to school. 

This T-shaped is about a solider that was in would war 1, or was he. Harry the solider worked on the farm to gather wool form the men at and to provide food for them, but one day he was sent to war camp to train to go to war. I have my work on these slides, and everything you need to know about word war 1 and remembrance day.

Knysna Seahorses are amazing and rarest seahorse in the world and can be found in some parts of South America. They live for five years (that is old for a seahorse) and if you think that they have an easy life, think again because after reading this you are going to think they are “tiny, but mighty”.

Appearance: A Knysna Seahorse can grow up to 12 centimetres tall and it can change its colour whether what its feeling or its surroundings. The seahorse’s body is covered in bony rings, that’s like armour. It has a smooth and short snout and a long strong tail that is used to grip plants or another seahorse during mating season.

Habitat: The Knysna Seahorse lives and is found in the waters of Knysna, Swartvlei estuaries and south coast of South Africa. The waters there are what the Knysna Seahorse needs to live and survive.

Eats: The Knysna Seahorse eats small crustaceans. Crustaceans are small creatures that live in shells like: Small crabs, lobsters, and shrimp, but the Knysna seahorse is not just the hunter because it is hunted by: crabs, birds and fish Brian.

Wow Fact: Did you know that a female seahorse creates the egg and then gives the eggs to the male to fertilize and gives birth to the babies.

Last week the year 6’s in my class learnt about bellbirds. I learnt that the bellbirds are hunted by meany pests and there are predators like: cats, ferrets, rats and others.
